Minimum
* Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, Vista * 1.8 GHz processor * 512 MB RAM * 8GB available hard drive space * 128MB video RAM or greater, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support * Sound card, speakers or headphones * 56.6 Kbps Internet connection required Recommended * 3.0 GHz Intel or equivalent AMD processor or better * 1GB RAM or better * 8GB available hard drive space * 256 MB Video RAM, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support ** (Nvidia 6800 or better, ATI X800 XL, X 1300 or better) * Internet connection with Cable/DSL speeds Please Note: The minimum system requirements will allow you, at the lowest video and performance settings, to play the single-player campaign and skirmish. Your performance for online play with the minimum system will be highly dependant on number of players and maximum units, and is likely to quickly degrade with more than 2 players and greater than 250 units.

As we all know the recommended requirements aren't that good either.
I've got the following: Windows XP Professional Intel Pentium IV 3.4GHz 1GB DDR2 RAM-memory ATI Radeon X1600PRO 256mb (NO PROCESSES in the background) And it sometimes lags anyway when it comes to playing AI and opponents on the internet with a lot of units. I'm planning to buy me an additional GB of ddr2 ram... is this going to improve my performance? Or will the diffirence be unnoticable?

hmmm, it could but i think it's more dependent of the videocard?
I also have 1 GB DDR2-Ram but i don't lag. My cache from the videocard is not 256mb like yours but 512mb. And I also have 3.4 GHz. So seeing as all is the same i think it's the videocard. But i have the Mobility version. So don't go buying a new videocard yet as it can also be your internet-connection or something else. Let's see what the rest have to say. |

I meant, I lag fast when A LOT of units start showing up. I can play the game fine on medium graphics. My internet connexion (lol) is superior tho. It's fast as hell. I often download at 1.1MB a second. upload sometimes goes to 512 kb/s, all ports are open and firewall is set so it will NOT interfere with the game... So does the anti-virus.
So i could be my gfx card, but i don't know if i'm going to buy me a better one yet as i am saving for a dual core system with 2 gb of ddr2 or 3 and a decent gfx card. So, ill just wait a bit and then get it.
