I wanted to see how many People would Purchase a Map Pack for Supreme Commander If GPG/THQ were to do one for us!

Yes it would have to be well woth while, I understand the Game came with 40 and also the fact that a Map editor is coming on next patch and finnally the EXP pack when it comes!

Positives if they did this: More maps in ranked games, keep the game really fresh with lots of choices, Various new tactics with maps!

I guess they could add a few bonus units with it!

I was thinking along the lines of 120 -150 maps of various shapes and sizes

Like: 8x8, 7 x10, 5x10, 10x15, 18x25, 25x40 and some more large ones in the 50's and 80's and off corse a few of the sisez we have.

3v3 maps, 4v4, 2v2v2 ect .

Only an idea but thats were products start!

To be honest I really dislike the idea about having so many maps

For now we already got enough maps for ranked games, only think we need to do is filter some unbalanced maps like Saltrock Colony and of course we could replace those maps by new onces.

Keeping the game fresh is also something really good but here are some points where I am getting stuck.

First of all why I get stuck is because I am focused on competitive gaming, that means that players are developing more and more skill. not just their basic skill (feeling for the game how to play) but especially their skills on their maps (more specific skills like you could have with a faction).

I think we have to stick to maximum of 8 maps in ranked games, you can't ask players to specialize for more maps that's almost impossible... and by specializing I mean every single fact and strategy that could be made on a map.

Our first job would be change/update the current maps so we got a good set.
After that it's possible to implement new maps. but maybe 4 new maps every seasons. why not more? Because it will decrease the quality of the players could play on the matches because they have to develop strategies on each map over and over.

One of the major things in enjoying replays is knowing facts what players can do. Personally my fun will be gone if I am looking at random maps I don't know because their are so many!

To make a long story short...

I don't want more maps in ranked games (to keep it fresh you can replace maybe 50% of the maps in a half year)

New bonus units will be great but will be included in the expansion pack

120-150 maps? I only need 8 awesome maps for each game type? (for now that would be maximum of 16 maps)

About the map size, I prefer tiny fast paced maps because this much better to watch. I don't wane see replays with +10 speed and still have to wait 5 minutes before I see some real action.

I am sorry I won't buy something like that even if it's for approximately 10 dollar.

By the way, it's great you come up with such ideas maybe other player would love to see various maps to play. it's more an personal vision

Hell no. Map packs, same as maps are supposed to be costless. It would be just as easy to download a map pack from filefront etc.

True, those wouldn't be ranked maps if GPG didn't design/distribute them themselves, but it wouldn't be alright charging people for something that they have to have if they want to continue playing ranked games, would it?

I know that mod are free, but if it's very good, i could pay for that.
But it has to be as good as an expension pack.

UPdate! meh I meant more maps for choices at later date etc not to make more in number to choose from in Ranked, I.e keep the 8 but change every once in awhile abit like you said Zhrance, just bad grammer from me.

There's one problem, I don't think the maps could ever be used in ranking matches simply because not everyone will buy the maps...

I would not. what i'd like to see is an official Map Editor. From there I'd really like us to host some Map Making contests. Map that could then be used in our events such as TUC, Show Matches, upcoming tournies etc...
