Can someone tell me where these guys are?
I mean they probably registered at some point so why are there only 1,100 players online at the same time in average? Is there anything we can do to get these people back on GPGNet? I feel like the potential is there but we need to do more in order to give this community a greater dynamic!

Considering its position in the sale charts I actually expected there to be more people online than there are currently (Finding it really hard to get an arranged 2v2 game because my teamate and I have no rating on the ladder and I suppose most people who are still active in it have high ones).
I think that to newcomers the game can be intimidating at first because it is very different to most mainstream RTS games, I know it took me about a week of offline experimenting to stop having a dire economy and close calls with the AI (Which I now beat with my eyes closed). |

Hmm, it's hard to say why there are so few people online, I've noticed the same thing too though. Out of all registered people, only a portion are going to be playing at any one time, most likely ~10%. Considering many of that 10% are worldwide and at different timezones, that can make a difference as well. Plus the game is still new, for some reason many people feel they have to play the campaign before going online and playing. I haven't even touched the campaign, lol, but my friend won't go out and play ranked until he beats the game (which he just did last night).
Maybe people are still doing that, or maybe they are getting rocked online because their specs aren't up to snuff, so they go back to their older games that are more playable.

Or as you said, completing the single player campaign really does not put you in good stead for playing online multiplayer. When you play ranked matches there is constant pressure and in the single player there are many moments where you can sit back and take a breather. Coming from that enviroment to online play may put a lot of people off.
