For those of you who may not already know, the full patch changelog is here GPGnet :: View topic - The Patch Balance Changes
Just thought I'd kick off a proper discussion thread concerning the upcoming patch which I think we can all agree, will really be changing our views on how SupCom is best played, hopefully for the better. I'll highlight a few notes on the changelist that I think will make big differences, lets see what everyone thinks... Quote:
All the T4 changes... It seems that T4s have been given an almost universal cost reduction (with the notable exception of the ML, which, to be fair, wasn't THAT expensive anyway) Quote:
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Those are just my top 3, I'm aware that the T4 one is rather...general, but so is much of the changelog so leh, bite me! :P |

I think this will also make the game more strategic. You can still win with a huge SAB spam, but if they have a lot of pd's, I think some t3 mobile artillery will need to be used to get your SAB's into the base. This is gonna make me happy as I really like t3 arty, but it doesn't every prove taht usefull, but now I'm sure it will. The only thing is if they have t2 stationary artillery, which if they're a succesful turtler, they will. That still makes me mad, but I think some t2 mob sheild gens would put and easy solution to taht. How well do t2 mobile sheilds do against t2 arty anyways?

I think we will see the rise of T2 wins now. A lot of games are won at T1, but there is a point where T1 is just not enough to win, the relative uselessness of t2 and the ease or reaching t3 currently rules out t2 as a viable option.
I am looking foward to opening up t2 as a good strategic game winning option.

do they specifically do more dmg or receive less from t1 units? Quote:
also i dont really agree with the t2 pd not hitting friendly units, unless they give some sort of logical reason for it besides gameplay =\ |
