Also your Connect 4 analogy is retarded.

A simple example is a wheelbarrow with square wheels.

(supcom is fortunately not as simple as connect 4, there are a couple of extra moves possible at every stage)

Learn to adapt, that's how evolution works, and that's pretty much WHY you are living today. Or is it because your gran-daddy learned to adapt?

At the beginning NO ONE has mastered any strats. It's not as if you are competing against people with more experience in the patch than you. They too have to adapt you know. You don't need to have a perfect strategy to win. I played Unconquerable today and I went fast tier 2 against him. He had never seen it before and at the beginning he was in real trouble yet he still managed to win because he was able to adapt to what I was doing and make up strategies on the fly. He is a good player. You are not.

It should be obvious by now that only knowing how to do very specific strategies is very bad for you. Fine-tuning your strats is great but it should not precede the ability to make up strategies as you go along.

Just play the game, make up some new strats and stop whining.

It's just psychological, you'r certainly a good player, but the shock was too hard and you decided to give up as quickly as this shock was...
Just take the time to calm down and play again later when your mood permit it, u'll be as good as before and surely better if you can surmount it.

it is bad if my plan is not complete. i might run into a hole of unknowingness and will fail miserably. it is true i am pretty much unable to to the "oh. didn't expect that. well, what can i do now?"-thing because of my lack of experience compared to players like sir_loui, who played about 10 times more matches than i did. but this is just not my style. i try to find a way that works most of the time and finetune it so it will work better, and then i try to add backup plans in case it fails. this is not as flexible as on the fly adaption, but it is strong and easier to learn. it can be even stronger than adaption because if i make a really good choice, and my enemy has to adapt, there is a timeframe in which i have an advantage.

Hamster once you understand the game mechanics on-the-fly-strategies will be stronger than any premade plan (considering you can't have enough plans for every Situation). It's Like playing Chess. You can learn the first 10 or even 15 Moves by heart but there is a point pre-made plans doesnt work anymore because the game becomes too complex. I don't want to say Supcom needs higher Intelligence than Chess, but it is way more complex and almost infinitely more complex than Connect Four.

So you have two possibilities: Either learn 258257857257 Plans by Heart to cover every Situation or spend some time analyzing the game mechanics so you know intuitively what to do. (Like Good Chess players do, ofc they analyse possible moves, but it's their intuition which makes a first sorting so only a few possibilites remain)
