this damn fucking patch screwed up ALL of my strategies on every map against every race. nothing works properly anymore. i got up to rank 36 with 75% wins (~100 games). i finetuned my strategies and was finally able to plan ahead even 15 minutes - and now i'm totally, TOTALLY screwed. none, NONE of my strategies are effective anymore. they simply suck.
i spent a lot of time to finetune my build order/strategy per map/what-to-do-when-against-which-race list, and everything has become useless. i lost 9 games out of 8 after the patch. i quit. this is bullshit. i already gave my key to about 100 people that were online at the time of my cursing and bitching, so don't ask ![]() Last edited by HamsterofDeath : 05-27-2007 at 05:51 PM. |

and i want everyone who keeps telling me this to feel pain as well. i developed lots of sophisticated strategies which are all worthless now, and i want someone/something to pay for doing this. this is like someone saying: "and from now on, $ will no longer be accepted as a currency. today, the @ will be introduced. every bank account will be resetted."
it would be no problem to keep playing and get better again, but i have no intention to do so. i earned my skill my learning, and i refuse to accept it being gone for nothing. |

new challenge: yes, please.
additions: yes, why not? but screwing up all of my skills and forcing me to re-learn everything: i refuse. picking a new game would be much more fun. i've already given my account to someone i don't know. he was online when i shouted my key and password to halcyon (or what the channels name was), so there is no way to re-continue playing this ****** ** ****. to all those who wan to say: "but they didn't change that much!" yes, they didn't, but my strategies were really, *really* detailled and finetuned, they only work with *exactly* the pre-patch unit costs and abilities. they are *totally* screwed up now. *everything* is broken for me. i tried to adjust my strategies, but failed. the difference is small, but the impact is just too big. i have no intention to re-develop everything i had. I gave you a free win vs ffase.
And I know how you feel, I had lots of problems with my first 20 games. The more you play it, the more you will get the feel of the new gameplay. Just leave the game for a few days and come back, ask for people in chat for 1vs1s and play something else than your "copy/paste". Last edited by kiwik : 05-27-2007 at 08:34 PM. |

it wasn't copy & paste, it was art. it was pure, fine art. it was a strategy that forced the enemy to act in a certain way or loose, and i was already prepared for everything that could happen - especially the "certain way". (ok, almost everything).
my matches were a series of events, each connected to the next and previous one, one after another, merging into each other. i gave build orders up to 15 minutes in advance and used my units exactly like i planned to do, my units were ready exactly when i needed them, i built exactly how many i needed to do whatever i wanted to to, i had map control whenever i planned it, i gave map control to the enemy when i wanted to and teched to exactly what i needed to win in the small timeframe i had before being outbuild - as i said, i consider it art. if the enemy could not keep up with one of these events, i won the match. if i didn't cover a specific situation, i most likely lost the game. it may be difficult to believe, but i *could* plan that far ahead without becoming vulnerable. i developed a deep understanding of the game, i knew exactly what do to when and why, and what the possible moves of the enemy are, and how to counter them - even before he started to react to what i did. So your strategies were good... once. War changes at all times, it is unpredictable and keeps you on your toes. Thinking back to Unconqs article he explains alot about how you must be ever changing.
Just because your 'way' doesn't work anymore doesn't mean you can't develop a new 'way. If you want to do it the same every game I reccomend C&C3, pretty much the same every game.
