I would have to say a big tip would be micro your artillery. I used to not do a good job at all at (still not that good). If you aren't going to issue seperate command for your artillery and your assault bots, then don't build them.
That being said, if you find someone that is intermixing their their artillery, rush in close and target it first. They generally aren't very tough and will die fast, plus you can stay within thier min range and they will become a waste of mass.

Your ACU can reclaim ressources while walking if you press Ctrl-Alt when pointing it to its destination. It won't stop to reclaim, but it will reclaim as much as it can get while walking. This is a good ressource support if you have to walk a long distance with your ACU anyway.
Kudos to Unconquerable for pointing that out.

I know it does with engineers. They have to stop for doing that though, so it looses the concept of reclaiming while getting to your destination in the same time. Dunno about mantii and harbingers, might be worth a try.

yea the engineer reclaim trick is VERY useful early game when ur resources are low. jus move ur engineer to a big forest and shift + p in a circle inside that forest. ur engineer will reclaim the entire forest and give ur economy a little mass boost.

And in response to the mass storage between mass fabs... I don't think it's very smart to pile up mass fabs next to eachother with the storage.. that's just TOO big a farm, and even with shield gens it's going to hurt bad when someone blows it all up in a blaze of painful glory.

how to use ferry:
1- Move the transport to where u want the ferry start point to be. 2- press the ferry command and then click on the map where u want the units to be ferried too(notice the icons that apear on the ground at the start and the end of the ferry route). You can have a curved route by shift clicking multiple points in the desired path. Icons will apear at each change in path but the transport will only drop units at the end of the route . 3- for the units you want to be ferried just issue them a move order onto the icon that apears on the ground marking the ferry start point. The transports will automatically pick them up and start moving them. With this you can set factories rally point on the ferry icon and the created units will automatically get ferried. And if you want to add more transports to the same ferry path just select the desired transports and use the assist command on the icon that apears on the ground. |
