As posted on iGames by Wayne:
SupCom iGames Site Thursday, October 11, 2007 I am very disappointed to announce that... Three of the finalists in this event have been caught playing from home, which is expressly against the rules. The three individuals have admitted to pretending to be playing the center. The three are: Homan 'RonPaul' Leung Nicholas 'Snyden' Snyder Keith 'WlNTER' Seidel All three are now disqualified. We will be announcing a remedy here shortly. The playoffs will be go on next week, and all prizes will continue to be awarded. Thank you sincerely for your patience. As good as W|nter (and the others) were, I'm amazed that they bothered not following the rules. He, and the others, tried to come up with a bunch of pointless excuses. They skewed the results of the tournament through their deception. Shame on them.

iGames is an organization of game centers so it's logical, and expected, that they're going to have you playing at iGames centers. Oh and the games were played through GPG-Net. I won't shed a tear for them. I just wish that, had they not intended to follow the rules, that they had not played at all. All they did was skew the results for people that did follow the rules. Their BS excuses, like calling Gamebreakerz a ghetto joint. [18:47] <GameBreakerz> lol [18:47] <GameBreakerz> you think the center cares? [18:47] <GameBreakerz> its a rundown place in the ghetto [18:47] <GameBreakerz> a bunch of black thugs were standing outside when i went [18:47] <GameBreakerz> didn't even feel safe goign there [18:48] <GameBreakerz> I wouldn't even go near that place, its in a really poor area's downtown, really run down I don't know, but the pics certainly don't scream ghetto. To anyone else, just play at a center, then you might win something instead of wasting everyone's time.

I don't know what Djinn exactly means about the way of hosting what would be gay (maybe he is right maybe not), but I think joe_servov that you did the right thing, if you got strict rules and they break them that there are consequences.
Don't have so much to add, only that it can be a boundary for players that they have to play in an Internet center at GPGNet, and see a chance to maybe play the matches at home on GPGNet... without making afford to come to the Internet center... it's a shot someone can make... and yes there are consequences... ![]()

To reply to an old old thread.
Unconq told me they turned up to play one day and couldn't get a machine and was told they wouldn't be able to play the tourney games that day. Thats why they played them from home to save themselves the 3 hour round trips.

hah, i just saw this post. i think its funny.
Yeah i didnt play at the game center...it was a piece of crap (that was unconq in the chat snippet joe posted). They wouldnt open their router ports so we couldnt connect to half of the games. And they were unwilling to help us. On my first visit there for the first round it took 3 hours to get there only to show up and they had installed the game but not updated it at all....so after spending an hour to update i got 1 game in before it was over. On the way home some idiot lady hit me going 30 at a red light, totalled my car. The point of my story is...Yes i played from home, that place was a piece of crap. I knew i was breaking the rules. And i accepted the fact that they would probably find out before it was over and i was willing to take that risk. I have no regrets. |

I wasn't there but as I said before, I would have done the same, especially after I hear you and Unc. talking about what that place was like...
It's as I said, they should have simply hosted it via GPG-Net, screw those centers. |
